Type of motorcycle

Different countries have different classification methods for the classification of motorcycles. The international standard (ISO3833-1977) classifies motorcycles into two categories by speed and weight: dual-purpose motorcycles and motorcycles. There are basically two classification methods of motorcycles in China: one is divided into mopeds and motorcycles according to displacement and maximum design speed. The working volume of the moped engine shall not exceed 50 ml, and the maximum design speed shall not exceed 50 kilometers per hour. Motorcycle refers to a two-wheeled or three-wheeled motorcycle with an engine working volume greater than 50 cc and a maximum design speed of more than 50 kilometers per hour. On the other hand, according to the number and position of the wheels, it is divided into three categories: two-wheeled vehicles, side-tricycles and regular three-wheeled vehicles.

It is generally customary to classify by use, structure, engine type and working volume. If it is only used as a means of transportation for short distances in the city, choose a miniature motorcycle or moped with a speed of no more than 50 kilometers per hour and a compact structure. It is necessary to travel between urban and rural areas frequently, and two people can ride it. It is advisable to choose an ordinary motorcycle with an engine working volume of 125-250 ml. If the road conditions for driving are poor, high-speed driving is required or for general competition, off-road motorcycles are used.
